The balconies to the Pont street elevation had been leaking for a number of years which had caused extensive degradation to the Stonework and brickwork beneath. the condition of the Stonework to the balconies and discovered that in addition to the decay resulting from continued saturation the balconies had also been previously repaired. The balconies were initially made watertight by asphalting the surface to the correct falls. The decayed areas of stonework were cut back, reinforced and repaired using Szerelmey synthetic stone compounds and finally redecorated in a Keim mineral paint to match the appearance of the adjoining properties.

The affected areas of moulded brickwork sheltered by the balconies were also cut back and restored insitu to match the existing brickwork in both colour and texture. Severely spalled areas of brickwork to exposed areas were carefully cut out and replaced with matching bricks.
