CLIENT: KPML

ARCHITECT: Squire & Partners

CONTRACTOR: Contractors Multiplex

VALUE: 3 million

Spring 2004

Main Contractors Multiplex have appointed Szerelmey as the specialist masonry contractor for a project designed by Architects Squire and Partners for the client Knightsbridge Developments Limited, which on completion will become known as the most prestigious residential address in London. This complex will ultimately house a total of 201 apartments.

The innovative nature of this project commences immediately from the main entrance into the complex where public artwork will be featured inset into a curved Portland stone wall with iridescent glass.

Szerelmey have been contracted to design, procure, deliver and fix approximately 2500 square metres of handset Portland stone from ground to first floor level on 18 different elevations of the building complete with a Chinese granite plinth.

In addition Szerelmey are creating five bespoke water features including all of the associated mechanical and engineering works. Each one of these water features is totally unique and constructed on a very grand scale. A combination of York stone, Chinese granite, African granite and basalt paving and setts is being used within this landscaping package to a total area of around 3000 square metres. To view one of these features, albeit on a smaller scale, it is well worth visiting the Chelsea Flower Show this year where Szerelmey have been commissioned to construct a water feature for one of the exhibits.
