Pre Fabricated Panel System
Overview
Szerelmey have worked in partnership with Finnish metals company Ruukki.
We design, supply and install off-site pre-fabricated light weight metal insulated cladding panels. These are capable of having a multitude of external and internal finishes applied, such as stone, render, metal rainscreens, glass, ceramic or timber.
The panels are individually designed for each and every project using 3D CAD software. They are then manufactured using CNC machines to enhance the production capabilities whilst reducing lead times. The advantage in the design methods used is that the entire structure and the cladding envelope is modelled three dimensionally, therefore clashes between structure and panels are minimised.
The use of pre-fabricated off-site panels means that the structural walls can be installed at a greater speed reducing construction time significantly. This also enables the building to be substantially weather sealed releasing the internal areas to following trades.
The panel is made up of lightweight galvanised steel 'thermal purlins’. These are structural members with a Ruukki patented slot, arrangement in the webs which reduce the thermal conductivity whilst providing structural integrity.

Minimising site waste reduction in labour resources required on site
Increased quality - a significant amount of the weather sealing takes place in a factory environment as opposed to being done on site
Reduced risk to overall contract programme by sealing the building quicker allowing following weather dependant trades to start sooner

Fully flexible design - each project is bespoke so a project can be panelised without it having to be modular or repetitive
