We recently sent some of our restorers down to Chalk Down Lime at the Sussex lime yard to attend a one-day practical training course in the understanding and use of Traditional Lime Mortars for the repair and conservation of new and historic masonry and lime pointing.
It’s National Apprentice Week 2022 and the theme will be ‘build the future’; reflecting on how apprenticeships can support people in developing the skills and knowledge required for a fulfilling career, and businesses to develop a skilful workforce that is equipped with knowledge ready for the future. At Szerelmey Restoration, we have some inspiring stories from our staff members, who started off as apprentices and are now in great roles.
In November 2021, the Women in Natural Stone group officially launched at The Landscape Show in Birmingham. Claire Wallbridge of the NSITG, chair of WINS group, invited some of Szerelmey’s ladies to join her at the launch to show support.

Szerelmey and Lendlease have teamed up to raise awareness of, and money for, the charity Breast Cancer Now, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Szerelmey will be supporting the UK’s biggest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now, throughout the month.
