Szerelmey have completed the extensive and complicated restoration of 14, Charles Street, a beautiful residential property in the heart of London. The restoration team dismantled the existing Charles Street facade which was transported to Albion Stone on the island of Portland. The original grand entrance facade was replicated using Portland basebed with carved intricate swag details and decorative elements.

To the rear of the front entrance Szerelmey restored and/or replaced the window surrounds and cills, and finished the facade with a Portland render. Our work continued with the installation of window surrounds, stone balustrades and copings in Portland basebed to the rear of the mews, and on the front of the mews we installed a handset Portland facade with soffit, two columns and low level cornice.

Finally, Portland stone surrounds were installed to the French doors and windows of the lightwell facade. The facade was finished with Portland render on block work and a decorative GRC cornice was installed.
