The upgrading of Green Park Underground Station involved constructing a new wheelchair accessible entrance within the Transport For London ‘Art on the Underground’ initiative.

The Szerelmey design team worked with all parties on the technical elements assisting the Royal Academician artist John Maine and Albion Stone in the choice of stone types which included Portland stone from different rock beds and granite. The panels were produced alongside the mouldings and balustrades to John’s design and installed by Szerelmey’s stonemasons. The stone cladding, showing the exposed hollows left by sea creatures from 150 million years ago, includes an eye level band featuring enlarged fossil shapes.

In addition, Szerelmey installed granite paving featuring a swirling design to reference a reservoir that was in this location in the 18th century.
