Szerelmey are committed to helping create a workplace where people feel able to talk and are doing this through affiliation with Mates in Mind and the British Safety Council. We have recently hosted a series of workshops with the British Safety Council to train our site managers and office-based managers as Mental Health First Aiders. Currently we have 2 based on our sites and identified through a gold badge on their hard hats, and 2 office based mental health first aiders. We have developed a series of posters in Polish, Portuguese and Romanian that provide clear information and help points for people who are suffering.
We have held Train the Trainer for Site Supervisors/Mangers courses to enable them to give Mental Health Awareness Toolbox Talks, which will be rolled out across our sites next year. By the end of this year we will have 8 trained Mental Health First Aiders.
